Concept 140 Hits in Art
Beeld en muziek gaan eigenlijk altijd samen.
De mens is haast altijd onderbewust op zoek naar een connectie tussen de twee. Een choreograaf heeft dans, het fysiek uitbeelden van muziek, met daarin zijn persoonlijke visie
Of een regisseur die muziek vertaalt naar videoclips als een animatie of een mix van diciplines.
Ik weet zeker dat vele creatieven in welke tak dan ook veel met muziek bezig zijn en dat ze favoriete bands of muziek hebben. Alleen welke muziek? Welk specifiek nummer?
Dit boek hoopt hierin (een dubbel) inzicht te geven.
Waar luistert de kunstenaar naar en hoe geeft hij dat vorm.
De persoonlijke visie van de kunstenaar op zijn favoriete muzieknummer in een door hem vormgegeven beeld.

For all the English reading and speaking artists that are joining this project, to get it all as clear as possible:
The goal is to publish a book in which 140 artists illustrate their favourite song.
The invite is on a personal basis so if you think somebody important is missing in the list please drop me a line and ill be glad to check it out !!

Het lijkt het mij zeer interessant te zien hoe een kunstenaar zijn favoriete muziek voor zich ziet en dat vertaalt in een statisch beeld.
Deel van het concept is zoveel mogelijk nummers die zijn opgenomen in dit boek te clearen bij de labels (wat ongetwijfeld een helse klus gaat worden) en zo een compilatie CD op te kunnen nemen achter in het boek.
Het is de bedoeling dat het boek het formaat zal hebben van een LP: 310mm x310mm.

Clicking the above link ( the one in fat CAPS) will open a .pdf that contains the invite.
SPECS:
- The artwork has to be square.
- The book will have the size of an LP (31x 31 cm)
- Image has to be 300 dpi.
- Hopefully there will be an exhibition as well where the art will be for sale.
When you send in your work do not forget to also send in the song you have illustrated as a file (MP3) and as much info as possible.
So we can also realease a CD or a DVD in the back of the book containing all the songs... or at least the ones I could clear.
